adopt an ashtray

Here's the serious bit.

Good, I'm glad we got you this far. Over 10 million ashtrays are now homeless and numbers are expected to grow. With nowhere to go, these old reliable friends have faded into the seedy shadows. Gone are the days of lonely late night drunken chats when the ashtray would be the only one who would listen to your ramblings. No one left to hold your cigarette as you lean in for that romantic kiss.

Spare a thought for our little glass and plastic friends who are no longer part of our nights out. Do something good today, give an ashtray a home.

There will be many ways to adopt. As you read this we have crews of volunteers searching for lost and weary ashtrays. Many ashtrays have already seeked refuge with us at Ashtray Trust. We are checking over each ashtray, to make sure they haven’t picked up any nasties while living on the street. As soon as we give them a clean bill of health they will be ready to adopt.

We have new arrivals everyday, each with a different story to tell. So stay in touch for more updates.

This love for the humble ashtray was bought to you through the collective workof:

Paul Weatherall, Stephen McDavid and Craig Seman
